This image was taken by Mary Ellen Mark. This is a photo of a teen prostitute nicknamed "Tiny" that Mark photographed throughout the young girl's life. A photo of Tiny at the age of thirteen later became the photo on the poster for Mark's husband's film entitled Streetwise.
This photograph by Mary Ellen Mark was taken during her brief stay in a mental institution where she took pictures of the patients. Mark was inspired to start this project after working on the set of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. This series of photographs later appeared in Mark's book entitled "Ward 81".
